Millwall boss surprised at lack of game time for Norwich City man – who was a huge loan hit for Lions last season

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Neil Harris has admitted Ben Marshall’s lack of game time at Norwich City is a surprise.

The 27-year-old winger was a huge loan hit at The Den last season.

The Lions were in advanced talks for Marshall in the summer, only for Norwich to come in with financial terms they were unable to compete with.

Marshall has made just four Championship starts for City and failed to feature in their last 11 league outings.

His last action was coming on the final 15 minutes of a 3-0 home loss to Leeds on August 25.

Millwall go to Norwich on Saturday.

Asked if he found it surprising that Marshall was not getting regular match time, Harris replied: “Yes, because he’s a top, top player.

“He is a fantastic player at this level and it’s no secret we chased hard to get him over the summer.

“Ben’s had a niggle and then an illness. He has found himself out of the team and the team has had great results.

“I’m sure he is chomping at the bit to get some action at the weekend. The team has been doing so well it is hard to break back in

“We know his capabilities in various positions. We’ll be fully aware of that if gets the opportunity to get on the pitch against us.”
