Bromley boss Smith fumes at Solihull Moors thrashing

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Bromley’s poor start to the National League campaign continued as they were smashed 5-0 at Solihull Moors.

Neil Smith’s side were trailing 4-0 at half-time and the game was effectively over inside the opening 20 minutes with Alex Gudger, Darren Carter and Jermaine Hylton on target.

Danny Wright netted in the 45th minute with Jamey Osborne wrapping up a comfortable victory for the hosts.

Smith said: “That’s the worst since I’ve been at the club. I’m embarrassed and I apologise to the supporters, who have made a fantastic effort to get up here – for that first half.

“We huffed and puffed in the second half and showed a little bit of guile but it was all done by then.

“To start like we did, gifting them the first goal. I know Jack has held his hand up, but the second and third are poor defending.

“That’s not a Bromley side I’d be putting out and be proud of.

“As a group of men we have got to come back and make sure that never happens again.”

Bromley signed Lincoln City attacking midfielder Joan Luque on loan at the end of last week.

The Ravens go to Ebbsfleet United tonight (7.45pm).

Tooting & Mitcham were unable to cause an FA Cup upset as they lost 4-0 at National League South leaders Woking.

Harvey Bradbury scored a hat-trick for the Cards before Armani Little capped things off with a 90th-minute goal.

Tooting are at home to Bedfont Sports in the Isthmian South Central Division tonight (7.45pm).
Greenwich Borough are back in Isthmian League South East Division action tonight at Phoenix Sports (7.45pm).

Fisher lost 1-0 at home to Lordswood on Saturday. Joe Kane’s 64th-minute goal settled the SCEFL Premier Division fixture. AFC Croydon lost 2-1 at Corinthian with their consolation goal coming from Emmanuel Oloyede.

Dean Thomas, Mario Quissaca and Jay Jones all netted for Lewisham Borough as they drew 3-3 at Kennington in the First Division. Sam Conlon, Joe Fisher and Gary Lockyer were on target for the hosts.

Colliers Wood United won 4-1 at Knaphill in the Combined Counties Premier Division with Raynes Park Vale drawing 2-2 at Walton & Hersham.
