Trio of burlgars sought over theft of Dulwich family heirlooms

Detectives are appealing for information after three men broke into a family home and stole high value jewellery.

Police were called at approximately 8.20pm on Saturday, 20 January to reports of a burglary in Alleyn Road, Dulwich.

It’s believed two men, one described as wearing a hooded top, entered the property by smashing a hole in the back door, while the homeowners were out.

Meanwhile, a third man, believed to be on a moped or motorbike, is thought to have acted as a lookout across the road from the address.

A large quantity of designer jewellery was taken as well as handbags, beauty products and two iPads.

Police have released photos of some of the items that were stolen, and are appealing for anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact them.

DC Rob Graham, who is leading the investigation, said: “The victims have lost a large amount of personal property, including some family heirlooms which were of huge sentimental value to them.

“Following enquiries, I believe the suspects were spooked by the sound of the property’s alarm and fled the scene. Did you see three men in the area acting suspiciously?

“I would also appeal for anyone who recognises these items and has information on where they are to do the right thing and contact the police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Walworth CID on 020 72326227 or 101. You can also tweet @MetCC.
