The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust’s 2019 Christmas toy appeal is now officially open

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust’s 2019 Christmas toy appeal is now officially open.

Christmas is fast approaching and the Trust is calling for donations of new toys for children and young people as part of the annual toy appeal.

The toys will be handed out on Christmas Day by Santa Claus to all the children at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and University Hospital Lewisham (UHL) who are too ill to go home for the festive period.

Robert Cole, head of nursing for children and young people, said: “We run the toy appeal campaign every year and we are so grateful to the public for their generous
donations.

We know that no child really wants to spend Christmas Day in hospital but we want to do everything we can to make their day as enjoyable as possible.”

For hygiene reasons only new toys can be accepted.

They can be donated at University Hospital Lewisham in Lewisham High Street or at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Stadium Road, Greenwich.
