Sydenham heavyweight Palata signs with Frank Warren

Sydenham heavyweight Jonathan Palata has signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren and makes his debut on the Daniel Dubois-Nathan Gorman show at Greenwich’s 02 on July 13.
The 30-year-old had 26 wins in the amateur ranks and won the ABA novices as well as the Haringey Box Cup. He reached the quarter-finals of the senior ABAs.
Warren has Dubois, Gorman and Joe Joyce on his books. All three men in action next month.
“I am very excited and very happy,” said Palata.
“I literally have joined the home of the British heavyweights! Now I need to stand next to them and I don’t think I am far away. Give me another three fights and we will see where we are, but not far off at all.
“I have got a more aggressive style now and will be going for the stoppages, whereas before I was told just to box. I always perform better against stronger opponents who throw and have more ambition.”
