Sunderland expect key man to be fit for play-off final against Charlton Athletic
Sunderland boss Jack Ross is expecting Aiden McGeady to be fit for Sunday’s League One play-off final against Charlton Athletic.
The Republic of Ireland international sat out the Black Cats’ semi-final matches with a foot injury.
Ross said: “Aiden will have a chance of being involved in the final.
“Obviously, the fact that the first leg was last Saturday, and the final is just over two weeks from that game, gives him that extended break again.
“That was part of the incentive, knowing that if we got to the final, we could have a player of Aiden’s quality back available.
“We’ll assess him in the week leading up to the final.”
