Streatham Youth Ice Hockey Club get England call-ups

Streatham Youth Ice Hockey Club were celebrating this week after seven of their players were named in England squads.

The players beat off competition from trialists across the country at camps in Sheffield and Deeside to secure a roster spot for an upcoming development camp and competitive fixtures in Slovakia.

Samuel Lyne, Dylan Holicka and Louie White will pull on the famous white and red England jersey at under-13 level. Harry Corkum and Amy Robery both got a call up for the under-14s with Edward Gibson named as a reserve. Jessica Wooding got the nod for the under-14 girls team.

All of the national teams will head to Bratislava in April.

The call-ups show the progress the club has made since moving to the new Streatham Ice Arena in 2014 after a number of tough years in the old rink and at Brixton.
