Southwark swimmer selected for British and English Summer Championships – but needs funding to be able to compete in Sheffield and Glasgow

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Southwark Aquatics are trying to raise £750 so Teddy Kinsler can compete at the British and English Summer Championships this month.

The 15-year has qualified for the 75 metres breaststroke at the British Championships (July 23-28) – making her one of the top 24 in the country.

And Kinsler has also been invited to the English event (July 31-August 4) to swim the 200m breaststroke.

She learned to swim at the Seven Islands Leisure Centre pool in Surrey Quays and has kicked on from there to become a leading talent.

Southwark Aquatics, a not-for-profit organisation, want to raise the money so Kinsler and a coach can go the competitions in Glasgow and Sheffield.

Any funds above £750 would be used to support the club’s younger swimmers.
