The Queen honoured a Bexley police officer with the George Medal for confronting terrorists during the London Bridge attack last June.
PC Charlie Guenigault, pictured, was given the award at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace on Thursday, October 11.
In June 2017, PC Guenigault was off duty when he ran towards the attackers, putting himself between them and other officers being attacked.
He received injuries to his head, back and stomach. PC Guenigault said: “I am so honoured and humbled to receive the George Medal and I am so glad that I get to receive this in front of my family.”
