Tooting & Mitcham have signed former Dulwich Hamlet defender Matt Drage.

The 25-year-old started in the Terrors’ 3-2 defeat at Margate on Saturday in the Bostik League Premier Division.

Peter Wedgeworth gave Frank Wilson’s side a second-minute lead at Hartsdown Park but the hosts quickly responded through a Jordan Chiedozie penalty.

The Margate frontman quickly added a second in the 18th minute and Sam Blackman extended the hosts’ advantage soon after the restart.

Chace O’Neill’s 65th-minute goal cut the deficit but Tooting have lost their last four fixtures and won just once since Christmas.

Dulwich Hamlet are still top of the table but their title hopes were dented by a 2-1 home reverse to Merstham.

Ashley Carew put the home side in front on 15 minutes but Charlie Penny struck twice in the final quarter of an hour.

Second-placed Billericay are only five points behind the South London club and have seven matches in hand.
