Non-league round-up: Bassett stays on scoring trail as Terrors keep alive play-off dreams

Tooting & Mitcham kept alive their play-off hopes in the Isthmian League South Central Division with a 1-0 win at Uxbridge.

Danny Bassett netted for the third match in succession. The victory at Horton Road leaves the Terrors seventh – four points behind fifth-placed Westfield.

JJ Hooper opened the scoring in Bromley’s National League match at Salford City with only six minutes of normal time remaining, but they still lost 2-1 to the promotion-chasing hosts.

Rhys Paul and TT Walter were on target for Greenwich Borough. They won 2-1 against Sittingbourne in the Isthmian League South East Division.

Mathieu Ramsamy bagged a brace in Fisher’s 4-0 home win over Beckenham Town. Trey Small and Rob Brown rounded off the scoring for the South Londoners, who are a point behind Corinthian in the chase for the SCEFL Premier Division title.

FA Vase finalists Cray Valley PM suffered a setback as they lost 3-2 at Holland & Blair. Francis Babalola got both their goals.

Rock-bottom Croydon lost 2-0 at Deal Town. AFC Croydon Athletic won 2-1 at Chatham Town.

Kennington are fourth in the First Division after a stalemate at Welling Town.

Lewisham Borough won 4-3 at Stansfeld with Omari Hibbert (two), Emilin Bennj and Laurent Mangle notching.
