New Croydon nightclub ‘Phase’ set to open December on the site of a former strip joint

A former strip joint which closed in May will become a 500-capacity nightclub.
Phase is expected to open until the early hours of Saturdays and Sundays, starting in December, on the site of the former Hustler Club, in Crown Hill, Croydon.
The new venue will be run by Lambeth Group – the team behind Brixton’s Prince of Wales – with two dedicated club rooms as well as a studio.
The owners also plan to open for mid-week live music and comedy shows.
Phase also plans to work with organisations and charities to offer out its studio and stage space to local groups.
Managing director Wayne Saunders said: “Our team are thrilled to be part of an exciting and dynamic time for Croydon, an area that has always been a hotbed for creative talent and music.
“Together with Croydon Music City, our shared vision to re-establish the borough on the cultural and musical map of London is vital to our project.
“We’re committed to offering a platform for emerging artists and a hub for established acts from the underground electronic music scene, as well as developing a performance space for local and London-wide talent from spoken word, cabaret, comedy and live music.
“Alongside this programme, we’ll also be working with local music charities such as Grooveschool to help develop young people’s skills in DJ and music production.”

Exactly another place for gangsters with knifes and to sell drugs , thats why most of these places in Croydon have been closed down we don’t need them anymore.
No more night clubs it isn’t good for our community .

London needs more night clubs so please stop streo typing all young people more people who carry knives or guns don’t go clubbing because they are caught up in street wars..
If you are fearful of night Love then move to a farming community and leave the capital of England. There is a lot of revenue generate because of night clubs and not just for clubs but for.clothes shops fast food shops hair dressers and barber’s to mention a few.
So again if you don’t like young people enjoying life then I think you need to move to some where that is more suited to you and don’t try to destroy a little weekend release for hard work people letting of a little steam over the weekend l…. IT IS JIST NOT FARE OR RIGHT FOR YOU TOO…. LEAVEV LONDON!!!!!

What. That is such a stereotypical and uneducated, in social comment from someone who clearly doesn’t frequent night time bars or venues. It’s about the music and when people care about the music none of that is associated with it. Otherwise the O2 wouldn’t exist. The only difference being electronic dance musics venues are primarily night time or day time(festival) environments. That comment above needs to be dismissed completely as that person clearly has no actual experience or knowledge of such an environment. Just a made up and overblown idea of what they think it is. Negativie is not a nice personality trait. Also the fact that croydon is developing more flats)housing will have younger generations in them that actually like going out in the evenings to bars/clubs and restaurants etc. Otherwise the economy in Croydon would die of and be a ghost town. From someone who has lived and was born in Croydon for over 30yrs. I have also worked in Fairfield Halls and that has not seen any trouble either unless you count the hysteria from JLS fans one time. They have also held electronic dance music events there before running to 2am. Had no problem.
