Neil Harris provides update on Millwall’s Tom Bradshaw after pre-season absence

BY JAKE SANDERS

Neil Harris has provided a positive update on the fitness of Tom Bradshaw after the striker was absent from Millwall’s pre-season defeat to Braga during their training camp in Portugal last week and then sat out the Lions’ victory at Gillingham on Sunday afternoon.

Bradshaw suffered a serious knee injury in November and was forced to miss virtually his entire first season at the club, but Harris revealed that the former Barnsley man will be back in the frame when his side travel to Southend United for their penultimate pre-season friendly on Wednesday.

“Bradders didn’t play against Braga because he had a tight hamstring,” Harris said. “Obviously he has been out for a period of time and has done every single session and more in pre-season, we just didn’t want to take a risk at all with Bradders. He will be there Wednesday.

“The boys that weren’t here today, the six of them trained at Calmont this morning – they did a physical session – and they worked extremely hard for an hour, so there will be a group that don’t go to Southend and those six will be travelling.

“There will be a mix of the boys tonight, I have already said Ryan [Leonard] will play Wednesday night with possibly another young lad that will play and it will be a good mix and a good opportunity for the young boys to impress.”

  • Haven’t looked forward to a new season so much for years.
