Neil Harris has compliments for Norwich, Leeds and Sheffield United as he discusses Pukki’s prestigious award
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Neil Harris reckons Teemu Pukki richly deserves his Championship Player of the Year award – and has hailed the work ethic of the top Championship sides.
The Norwich City frontman has scored 26 goals in 37 league starts. They are top of the table.
“He’s a top player, a really good player,” said Harris. “He’s played in a lot of top leagues around Europe and shown his qualities in and around the penalty area.
“There has been no-one better this season for me – Billy Sharp has run him close.
“But Pukki has that movement and cleverness. If you watch his work off the ball he is a bit like Lee Gregory, in how he works so hard.
“Norwich are a hard-working team. If you look at Norwich, Sheffield United and Leeds, the work load they get through is phenomenal – it is not just their ability in the final third. It is their work ethic off the ball which is so good.
“He typifies that for Norwich and fully deserves, for me, to win the award.”
