Murder investigation launched in Lewisham after man found dead in flat
Police launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead in his flat in Lewisham.
Neighbours of the 54 year old man called the police on May 16 to Torridon Road in Catford after concerns that they had not seen the man for a long time.
Officers found the man dead in the flat and originally treated the death as non-suspicious but once he was taken to the mortuary stab wounds were discovered.
A special post-mortem took place at Greenwich Mortuary on May 19 and gave the cause of death as multiple stab-wounds.
A 39-year-old man was arrested on May 18 on suspicion of murder.
He has been bailed in connection to return to a police station on a date in mid June.
The investigation by the Homicide and Major Crime Command continues.
