Millwall v Aston Villa team line-ups: Jed Wallace returns to Lions’ starting line-up
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Millwall manager Neil Harris has made one change for today’s home game against Aston Villa – with Jed Wallace replacing Jiri Skalak.
Wallace served a one-match ban for collecting five bookings and sat out Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest.
But he always looked likely to be preferred ahead of Skalak as the Lions look to end a run of three home matches without a victory.
Millwall are joint bottom of the Championship form guide for the last six matches – taking two points from a possible 18. They are 21st in the home and away form tables.
Lee Gregory has scored in successive matches for the South Londoners and the last time he managed to do that three times was in May 2016, the final regulation game of the League One season against Gillingham and then going on to net in both play-off legs against Bradford City.
Aston Villa sacked Steve Bruce on Wednesday evening with Kevin MacDonald taking charge for today’s match. The caretaker boss has made three changes with Orjan Nyland, James Bree and Neil Taylor starting.
Millwall: Amos, Romeo, Cooper, M Wallace, Meredith, Williams, Leonard, J Wallace, Ferguson, Elliott, Gregory. Subs: Archer, Bradshaw, Webster, Tunnicliffe, Morison, O’Brien, Skalak.
Aston Villa: Nyland, Taylor, Tuanzebe, McGinn, Grealish, Hourihane, Bree, Abraham, Bjarnason, Hutton, Elmohamady. Subs: Bunn, Whelan, Lansbury, Hogan, Bolasie, Kodjia, Adomah.
