Millwall owner John Berylson flies into UK to resolve managerial situation
richard@slpmedia.co.uk Millwall’s managerial search is coming to completion – with owner John Berylson flying into the UK this week to interview the final shortlist of candidates.
Lions’ chief executive Steve Kavanagh had conducted initial meetings as the Championship club got a proper feel for the best contenders to succeed Neil Harris. And they have cut that down to three options – caretaker boss Adam Barrett, Wycombe’s Gareth Ainsworth and Gary Rowett, out of work since leaving Stoke City in January.
Our paper broke the news last week that Barrett would stay in charge of first-team affairs at Brentford on Saturday.
The indications are that the earliest that Millwall could make an announcement is Sunday.
Berylson, pictured above, was due to sit down with the trio yesterday and today and will make the final call on who replaces Harris.
Millwall host Cardiff on Tuesday before facing Stoke at The Den next Saturday. If it is an external appointment then it seems likely the new man would watch the midweek fixture from the stand.
