Millwall midfielder has his say on first Championship start for Brighton loanee

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Jayson Molumby made his first Millwall league start last weekend – and fellow midfielder Ben Thompson reckons the Brighton loanee will get better and better with more game time.

The 20-year-old had impressed on international duty as he skippered the Republic of Ireland U21s.

And Lions manager Neil Harris started Molumby in last weekend’s 2-0 loss at Blackburn Rovers as Championship action resumed.

Thompson said: “He is great on the ball – very technically gifted – and that’s why he is at a Premier League club.

“That was his first game in the Championship, so he needs bedding in. It takes time to get used to it. I didn’t hit the ground straight away – it’s about learning and playing minutes.

“The more minutes he gets the better he will get. He will be a great addition to the squad and will do well for us.”

See Friday’s South London Press for a full interview with Ben Thompson.

Good – a positive write up about a player who has undoubted ability and that we are lucky to have on our books this year.
No more positive a sign that he will be left out against QPR – and replaced by Leonard or Williams!!
