Millwall expecting defender deal to add to U23 squad
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Millwall manager Neil Harris has revealed the club are set to make another signing for their U23 squad – after snapping up Brightlingsea Regent winger Rob Harvey this week.
The Lions have let a number of their development players leave this summer with the likes of Kris Twardek, Christian Mbulu and Noah Chesmain all being released.
Teenager Harvey signed for the Championship outfit after impressing on trial.
Harris said: “Rob is an exciting wide player and looks to cross the ball. He is tremendous young man, a very bright individual who was going to go to university.
“He’s done really well for us pre-season. The wide area was an area we were looking at for our U23s. We’ll also complete on a centre-half soon to come into that group.
“The main focus is on first-team recruitment and first-team squad. But we’re making sure our young players get the attention they need to.
“Rob is adding in another young player who might come through in future years.”
