Neil Harris is aiming to make less changes as Millwall head into a less fixture-heavy September – but says it is down to his players to earn the right to stay in the team.
The Lions resume Championship action at Blackburn next weekend. The trip to Ewood Park is only one of three matches in September, compared to eight in August.
Harris said: “I’ve always liked continuity in team selection – in August that wasn’t possible because of the risk of injuries and suspensions.
“I might be able to pick a more settled side until the end of September but players have to earn the right to be in a settled team.
“I looked at the first six league games and thought it was a real tough start – to have the points return we’ve got is really pleasing. But at the final whistle last Saturday I was a little bit disappointed we hadn’t got more points from Boro away and Hull at home, they were two games we easily could have picked up maximum points.
“It’s a new group and we’ve seen elements of it coming together but it will take time to settle.”
