Millwall attacker needs international break to help clear up injury

Fred Onyedinma remains a doubt for Millwall’s game at Cardiff City on Saturday – with Lions boss Neil Harris admitting the forthcoming international break will aid his recovery from an ankle injury.

The Lions attacker had not trained at the start of this week.

Harris said: “We’re hoping to get him involved before Saturday. It’s a tricky one because Fred has not played as much football as others. He’s probably one that needs some rest away from the training pitch and the international break will be useful to try and clear up his ankle problem.

“He is working hard with the physio. We’ve got three games in seven days, it’s vitally important we keep everyone fit. Fred’s a key part of that, fingers crossed he will be involved.”
