Man beaten to death in Battersea street battle

A 46-yar-old man has died after being involved in a street brawl in Battersea.
Police have launched a murder investigation after the man died following the fighting yesterday.

Officers were called at 5.30pm to reports of a group of males brawling at Charlotte Despard Avenue.

Police attended along with paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance. At the scene a 46-year-old man was found with injuries after having been attacked. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.15pm.

Next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

All suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The incident took place within a communal area of a block of flats in Charlotte Despard Avenue.
