Lyle Taylor has message for Karlan Grant as Charlton’s G&T partnership is broken up

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Lyle Taylor has posted a social media message giving the thumbs up to Karlan Grant on his Premier League move.

The Charlton strike duo had plundered 29 goals for the Addicks this season.

But that partnership is no more after Grant completed a switch to Huddersfield Town today.

Taylor, the Addicks’ top-scorer with 15 goals this season, put a picture of the pair up on his Instagram page.

And he wrote: “It’s been an unbelievable 6 months playing alongside this kid! A great teammate, a great partner and above all a very talented footballer. At 21 I can fully understand his decision and his desire to play in the Premier League. KG, it’s been real brother and I know you’ll smash it going forward. I’ll miss u, we all will, but I wish u every success little bro! At least the album of me and u hugging won’t get any bigger!”

Don’t see the point of having an academy , they only stick around for six months then go , we would be better off putting resources into recruiting players like Williams , and Taylor , would save alot of money , who’s next.
Don’t see the point of Grants transfer , unless he plans to make a splash , and leave relegated Huddersfield in June.
I still think we can get promoted ,we didn’t need him last season he still misses loads more than he scores, good riddance , when is it the fans turn.

My sentiments exactly..what’s the point of paying good money too..valley gold ..to help train these kids who then leave us at the first opportunity ..I appreciate they are thinking of their careers..but surely once they have made the grade a 2year contract to give something back to club and fans would be nice..we lost..Shelvey..Gomez ..jenkinson ..Lookman ..Poyet ..list is endless

Karlan Grant will be a forgotten name once Lyle Taylor is back in the team scoring lots of goals to get CAFC into the Championship, and playing against Huddersfield Town next season. But I wish him well and I do hope he keeps on missing the penalty kicks. I was at the Peterborough match and it was not really Karlan out there on the pitch, just a shadow of his true self. Mind was obviously counting the extra money he will now earn himself. Thanks for all your goals this season Karlan, I will still look out for your name but you don’t look right in that awful new kit.

Huddersfield Karlan? Are you mad? See you in the Championship next season.
