Lewisham pupils from St Winifred’s School knit baby hats for University Hospital London
Year 5 pupils from St Winifred’s School in Lee have been knitting baby hats, which they have donated to the maternity department at University Hospital London.
Stephanie, Ariana, Thalia, Nyiesha and Matthew came in on Wednesday, July 11 to visit the midwifery team and present their colourful creations on behalf of the school.
The pupils talked about how they found knitting relaxing and calming, and how happy they were that so many newborn babies would be wearing them.
Giuseppe Labriola, head of midwifery at UHL, said: “It was a really kind and thoughtful gesture from the pupils and it was lovely meeting them today.
The hats are so well made, and will be very much appreciated by the babies and their parents.”
