Frighteners – a new show for the Halloween season
From the creative team behind the acclaimed version of Three Men in a Boat in the Spring, comes Frighteners, a new show for the Halloween season.
Five established playwrights were commissioned to write short, 20-minute playlets of psychological horror, and the five finished plays will be staged for four performances only at the new 100-seater venue, Upstairs at the Sydenham Centre.
All of the plays explore dark themes – revenge, murder, split personalities, guilt, grief, trauma, terror – to name just a few.
Each have a startling and original premise, see synopses below for detail, and will be fully staged with a cast of four: Spontaneous regulars Annie Aldington, Tom Franck, Angela Shaftoe and newcomer, Swedish actor Hjalmar Norden.
The play runs at Upstairs at the Sydenham Centre 8pm on Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11 and Friday and Saturday, November 17 and 18. The show lasts approximately two hours including the interval.
