Does Millwall boss know his Championship starting line-up? He answers question after friendly win at Cambridge

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Neil Harris will not have his Millwall starting 11 nailed down for the Championship opener until just days before the Den clash.

The Lions are in pre-season mode at the moment and won 2-0 at Cambridge United today.

Tom Elliott and Jake Cooper, pictured above, both netted for the South London outfit.

And Harris made it clear that nobody should feel their spot in his side is nailed on.

He said: “There are places up for grabs, that’s for sure. One hundred per cent there is.

“There are players who think they are nailed on to play, but maybe not in my opinion. There are some who will feel they are playing catch-up and need minutes to push towards being in the plan.

“Two weeks is a long time in football. If you have a settled team in your mind now and you pick up a couple of injuries or poor performances before then, then it all changes.

“I don’t have a clear picture until at least Tuesday before we play Middlesbrough.”
