The National Hairdressers’ Federation (NHF) combed the country for Britain’s best, and hair apparent Luca Spinelli came out on top.
The 25-year-old, who works at The Bohemians Salon in Deptford Broadway, had a brush with greatness at the UK’s largest hairdressing trade show, Salon International at ExCeL London.
He entered into the NHF’s Fantasy category where he styled his model with brightly coloured feathers and twigs.
It was a close shave but he beat eight other finalists to the crown.
He said: “I felt super. It was an amazing experience which I recommend to everyone. “All the contenders did an amazing job.
“There were a lot emotions and energy going on and this feeling makes your creativity never stop.”
NHF president Agnes Leonard said: “Britain’s Best is a highlight in the calendar of stylists and barbers across the country.
“This year did not disappoint – the level of talent from across the UK hotly contesting the top spot was outstanding, so Luca should be proud of his huge achievement.”
