Cyclist killed in Erith lorry collision named

A cyclist who died following a collision with a lorry has been formally identified.

Police were called by paramedics at around 4.30am on Monday, October 8 to reports of an injured man at Bronze Age Way, Erith.

Officers attended and found a 60-year-old cyclist, Brian Barnett of Duxford House, Abbey Wood, had been in a collision with a lorry, which did not stop at the scene.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at around 5.30am.

The lorry was found at 6.10am in London Road, Swanley.

The driver was arrested and later released under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 844/8OCT.
