Crystal Palace v Grimsby Town line-ups: Nine changes made by Eagles boss for FA Cup tie

BY SAM SMITH

Roy Hodgson has made nine changes to his Crystal Palace side for this evening’s FA Cup third round tie against Grimsby Town.

Only Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend remain from the Eagles’ 2-0 victory against Wolves on Wednesday night. The wide pair join Alexander Sorloth in a three-pronged attack.

Defender Scott Dann makes his first competitive appearance since December 31, 2017, partnering Martin Kelly at centre-back. Joel Ward and Pape Souare flank them and Wayne Hennessey starts in goal.

There is also a rare start for Jairo Riedewald, whilst Max Meyer and Jeffrey Schlupp make up the rest of the midfield.

Palace (4-3-3): Hennessey, Ward, Dann, Kelly, Souare, Meyer, Riedewald, Schlupp, Townsend, Sorloth, Zaha. Subs: Speroni, Wan-Bissaka, Woods, Kouyate, Kaikai, Ayew, Wickham.

Grimsby: McKeown, M. Rose, Hall-Johnson, Hendrie, Fox, Embleton, Hessenthaler, Clifton, Woolford, Cardwell, Thomas. Subs: Ring, Welsh, Cook, Vernam, Pringle, Pollock, Russell.
