Crystal Palace suffer fresh injury problems in FA Cup defeat to Brighton

Andros Townsend and Jeffrey Schlupp are fresh injury doubts for Crystal Palace – with the pair forced off during tonight’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Brighton.

Schlupp picked up a knee injury as he blocked Izzy Brown’s shot. Both players were eventually replaced in the first-half.

And Townsend left the Amex Stadium in a protective boot after suffering an ankle knock. He was substituted for Sullay Kaikai at half-time.

Both must now be doubts for Saturday’s Premier League home fixture against Burnley.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson – who rested Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke – said: “I would have swapped any result to have Schlupp and Townsend available. One has left on crutches and one has left in a boot. And my experience tells me that whenever I see that it is not a good sign.”
