Crystal Palace boss Hodgson wants double striker swoop in January transfer window

Roy Hodgson has not altered his transfer wishes from the summer window – claiming Crystal Palace need to improve in both attacking and defensive areas.
The Eagles have just two recognised full-backs – Joel Ward and Patrick van Aanholt – who are both injured and they possess very few credible attacking options. Palace’s strikers have only scored a combined six goals this campaign.
The South Londoners have been linked with a loan deal for Everton striker Cenk Tosun.
Palace boss Hodgson said: “I’ve no comments to make on potential transfer targets.
“That will be something which will be happening now but unless I can say honestly that the thing being put before me has some truth in it then I’m not prepared to make any comment.
“We’ve said since the summer transfer window we are looking to sign at least one, possibly two strikers and two full-backs. Nothing changes. I said it a year ago, I said it in the summer and I say it again.”

Starting a season with 5 goalkeepers in the 25 was absolute folly. 9th position must not mask the challenges of the owners wanting to sell, the unclarity re a new stadium,and the unwillingness to spend money in the last transfer window. Would love to see Batshuyi at Palace permanently.
Watching Palace play Premier League clubs week in, week out, without splashing the cash is an amazing achievement. Yes, we’re not great to watch in a lot of games but I’d still prefer to see us play Man City and Liverpool than Championship games.
