Crystal Palace have made their first signing of the summer – confirming a deal for Vincente Guaita.
The Eagles had agreed a pre-contract deal for the 31-year-old Spaniard after originally trying to work on a January deal, but being unable to agree a fee with Getafe.
Instead they have waited to pick up Guaita on a free transfer. He has signed a three-year contract and will officially become a Palace player on July 1.
The goalkeeper joined Getafe from Valencia in July 2014. He played 34 times in La Liga last season.
THE LOWDOWN

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish on the deal: “We are delighted to sign one of La Liga’s best goalkeepers and pleased that we beat off the competition for his signature. We very much look forward to Vicente joining in pre-season training and helping us push on in the Premier League.”
