Croydon killing: One teenager dead and two injured in triple stabbing

A teenager was stabbed to death on a night of violence that saw two other teenagers suffering serious stab wounds in Brighton Road, Croydon .

Emergency services arrived at the scene at 9.10pm but the boy aged in his late teens died 40 minutes later.

A second male, also believed to be aged in his late teens, was found nearby suffering from stab injuries and was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A third male, also thought to be aged in his late teens, was found close to Purley Railway Station suffering from a slash wound. He was taken to a south London hospital for treatment; his injuries are not life-threatening and he has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Two other male teenagers were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. They have been taken to south London police stations where they remain in custody.

A section 60 has been authorised for the local area until 1302hrs on July 12.
