Chelsea interested in AFC Wimbledon youngster
AFC Wimbledon could face a battle to hold on to Leo Castledine – with Chelsea understood to be monitoring the young midfielder.
The England U15 international has been in the Dons academy for eight seasons.
He is the son of Stewart Castledine, who played for Wimbledon’s first team from 1991 until 2000. He was called up for the England U15s in October.
Speaking back then, AFC Wimbledon academy manager Michael Hamilton said: “We rate Leo immensely, so much so that we made him the youngest ever player to feature for the U18s this summer when we toured Spain.
“We’ve had numerous conversations with Leo and his family since we heard the news and nothing changes.
“It’s important he continues with the same attitude and application he has shown to get him up to this stage, and that he remains grounded.”
