Charlton boss confirms Championship striker is on list of loan options

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Lee Bowyer has admitted that Bristol City’s Mo Eisa is on his list of potential loan striker signings.

We exclusively revealed last week that the former Greenwich Borough attacker – who earned his move to Ashton Gate after banging in 25 goals in 50 games for Cheltenham – was on the Addicks’ shortlist.

Bowyer said: “Yeah, he’s one we like. He’s proven he scores goals.

“We’re going to go to work on our list today and narrow it down. We have got a list of about five or six.

“It is difficult, there are not many out there and they might not suit us.”

Bowyer had also previously confirmed that QPR’s Paul Smyth was another option. The Northern Ireland youngster, 21, joined Accrington Stanley last week.

“To be honest that is probably a good move for him,” said the Charlton manager. “There would’ve been a lot of pressure for such a young lad to come in and compete with the two we have got up top.

“I’m guessing he’ll play more games where he has gone. It’s the right move for him.”
