Naby Sarr is set for his first Charlton start under Lee Bowyer as the defender comes in to face Shrewsbury Town this afternoon – with the Addicks still unable to name a full complement of substitutes.
The 24-year-old centre-half replaces the absent Jason Pearce, who suffered a knee injury late on during last week’s defeat at Sunderland. The Addicks captain is expected to be side-lined for two to three weeks.
Bowyer is still unable to name a full bench having only named five substitutes last weekend. That number has risen to six today, with Anfernee Dijksteel returning from illness and Albie Morgan making his first appearance in a competitive first-team squad.
Goalkeeper Jed Steer, signed on a season-long loan from Aston Villa yesterday, does not feature.
Darren Pratley, Lyle Taylor and George Lapslie all make their full home league debuts.
Charlton: Phillips, Bauer, Sarr, Solly, Page , Marshall, Pratley, Lapslie, Aribo, Taylor, Grant. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Morgan, Maloney, Ajose, Hackett-Fairchild, Dijksteel.
