Members of the Woolwich Rotary Club were out in force at with buckets imprinted with the club’s famous symbol collecting donations from punters, raising £455.

Woolwich Rotary Club representative David Stopp, 63, said: “We were out all day and the public were really appreciative and generous.”

The Woolwich club supports many charitable organisations in the Greenwich area and it is part of Rotary International which is focused on tackling global issues through community service.

The club has 18 members and they meet on Mondays at Shooters Hill Golf Club in Eaglesfield Road. They are inviting any community-minded individuals to join them at the meetings.
