Arsenal v Chelsea – HALF-TIME 0-0

An opening 45 minutes of thrills, spills and terrible finishing as the Blues went toe-to-roe with their north London rival Arsenal this evening at the Emirates Stadium.

Alvrto Morata should have scored when he raced clear of the Gooners porous defence. When one-on-one with Petr Cech, he bottled it and screwed the ball wide.

Thibaut Courtois was on the spot twice to thwart the home side, making fantastic saves that firstly saw the ball hit both his posts from an Alexis Sanchez’s shot, before settling into his clutches, then he denied Alexander Lacazette with a fabulous diving save.

The Blues only had spordic chances to test Cech other than that Morata howler, Marcos Alonso saw  a free kick inch over Cech’s  crossbar..

A let effort by Cesc Fabregas sailed over the Arsenl crossbar after excellent set-up play by Eden Hazard.
