Arrests of east London suspects in Walworth killing of Amara Toure

Detectives investigating the murder of Amara Toure have made two further arrests.

A 20-year-old man from Ilford and a 20-year-old man from East Ham were arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, 4 July.

They are currently in an east London custody suite. Enquiries continue.

Amara, 18, died after being stabbed in Sutherland Walk, Walworth, in the early hours of Sunday, 30 June.

A post-mortem examination held on Tuesday, 2 July gave cause of death as incisive wounds to the abdomen and blood loss.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They were taken to separate custody facilities and have since been released under investigation.

A 20-year-old man was charged with murder on Wednesday, 3 July. He appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 4 July. He was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 8 July.
