Adam Barrett reckoned referee’s penalty call was spot on – and praises Millwall players for getting win over the line

Adam Barrett felt there was no debate over the validity of Millwall’s penalty in today’s 2-1 win over Leeds United.
There were claims that Tom Bradshaw had not been touched as he hit the turf with Gaetano Berardi shown a straight red card by referee James Linington. Jed Wallace thundered in the penalty with Bradshaw adding a second goal before the interval – his third of the campaign.
Ezgjan Alioski found a quick response after the break to bring Leeds back into the contest but the 10 men did not manage another effort on target.
“I thought it was a penalty,” said first-team coach Barrett, in caretaker charge after manager Neil Harris and assistant David Livermore resigned on Thursday. “By the letter of the law it is what it is. The ref gave it and you get on with it.
“We were tremendous in the first half – the intensity of the lads. That is what we prepared them to do. We wanted to smother them – not give them any breathing space. We did that.
“We were trying to calm everyone down [at half time]. The atmosphere was rocking but the words I said at half-time, everything I said didn’t happen when we came out. I wanted a good start and a fast start but Leeds broke and scored very, very quickly. It was a terrible start to the second half.
“You have to regroup. There was a long way to go still and Leeds really took the handbrake off and played with freedom but our shape was excellent – we limited them to hardly any attempts.
“You could see in the second half that the lads were tiring – that’s mental as well as the physical output. The atmosphere was electric and the lads had an emotionally draining 48 hours. It was a quick turnaround after the Luton game. We had to prepare the boys after the shock news.
“Don’t take anything away from the players out there. What they produced was fantastic.”

Well Barrett is a cheat then, like his players and the ref. Everyone can see that he’s dived. The evidence speaks for itself. Also what about the disgusting behavior of Millwall fans spitting at the Leeds Utd players. Millwall stand for everything that’s bad about the game. The sooner that they get relegated the better.

Dear Mr Barrett, I suggest you look at the video replay, there is NO contact, it is NOT a penalty, Beradi should not have been sent off, and I would now suggest that you plan your forth coming fixtures on the basis that Mr Bradshaw will not be available for selection, as he deceived the (incompetent) official by diving.
Typical he barrett should looked at the video and firstly it was a dive and secondly red card you are having a laugh but there again it’s Leeds. So Harrison brought down in the box not a penalty it’s a absolute joke
By saying that, he just makes himself look like an absolute idiot. The video evidence is absolutely 100% clear. It was a blatant dive and there was a covering defender. The ref has totally screwed Leeds. Claiming otherwise is utterly ridiculous and this guy loses any little credibility he may otherwise have had.
