Chelsea's Pedro celebrates scoring his side's first goal of the game during the UEFA Champions League, Group C match at Stamford Bridge, London.

Pedro smashed home a five-minute 25-yard blaster to open the scoring tonight at Stamford Bridge against Qarabag FK in the Champions League.

The first half saw total dominance of possession by the west Londoners and on 30 minutes, new-boy Italian defender Davide Zappacosta cemented his place in the hearts of the Chelsea fans by scoring what could be described as a worldly, if he had meant it.

Racing clear, he sent in a cross by the right wing, but instead of reaching it’s intended destination of the far post, the ball zipped past hapless goalkeeper Ibrain Sehic to double the lead.
