Bolton Wanderers' Mark Beevers

Phil Parkinson hailed the performance of Mark Beevers on his latest return to The Den – with the Bolton centre-back twice denying Steve Morison in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Millwall.

Lions boss Neil Harris dismissed a link to their former centre-back just before the season started.

Beevers produced two vital interventions as Morison searched for a second goal for the South London hosts – heading over the bar as well as getting a block on a goalbound volley.

“Mark has been a collossal signing for us,” said Parkinson.

“We got him on a free transfer last year. He’s still at a great age for a centre-half, he’s 6ft 4ins tall, left-sided and puts his body on the line every week – you can’t ask for much more.”
