Christian Benteke is top of one stats league this season – the amount of Premier League aerial duals won.
The Crystal Palace striker’s defending from set-pieces was criticised at the weekend, as his laid-back approach to marking his man was punished by Swansea as they won 5-4 in a remarkable game at the Liberty Stadium.
But Benteke is a clear leader in aerial duals won – with a percentage of 59 per cent. He has come out on top 108 times in 183 challenges.
Next nearest is Burnley’s Sam Vokes (103 won out of 208 for a 49.5 per cent record).
The data, courtesy of EA SPORTS, also shows that Andros Townsend has attempted the most crosses – 89 – and completed the second most – 17.
Former Eagles wideman Yannick Bolasie has the highest amount that have found their target, 19 from 78 crosses.
Former Tooting & Mitcham star Michail Antonio scrapes into the top-10. The West Ham man has 10 accurate crosses from 49 attempts.
