Steve Morison’s role at Millwall next season could see the experienced striker take on some coaching responsibilities.
The forward has got 12 months to run on his Den deal. He turns 36 at the end of August.
Morison has been doing his coaching badges in recent seasons.
The Lions frontline is set to see major changes this summer.
Top-scorer Lee Gregory is leaving on a free and has agreed to join Stoke City.
The club are also set to listen to offers for Fred Onyedinma and Tom Elliott.
Lions boss Neil Harris said: “Lee has moved on, as people are full aware of, and Steve Morison is another year older.
“Myself and Moro will continue to talk about what role he plays next year – from an impact role to helping out on the coaching front.
“We were light in that area [attacking] last season.
“Fred is a player who is going to move on in the summer. Tom Elliott had limited opportunities at times. He is another one who might want to think about a change of location for family purposes.”
