Middlesbrough v Millwall: Lions make five changes as Marshall, Thompson and Gregory all start

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Ben Marshall and Ben Thompson are two of five changes made by Millwall manager Neil Harris for today’s Championship match at Middlesbrough.

The Lions chief puts Marshall – signed on loan from Norwich City on Wednesday – straight into the starting line for the Teesside clash.

It is also a first Championship start for Thompson, who spent the first half of the campaign on loan at League One table-toppers Portsmouth.

Shaun Williams, a used substitute in the last two fixtures after recovering from ankle ligament damage, also comes in.

Murray Wallace is preferred at left-back with Lee Gregory starting up top in what looks set to be a 4-5-1 formation – Tom Elliott ruled out with a shoulder injury.

The other players to make way after last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Blackburn are Aiden O’Brien, Ryan Tunnicliffe, James Meredith and Shane Ferguson.

Millwall: Archer, Romeo, Hutchinson, Cooper, M Wallace, Thompson, Williams, Leonard, J Wallace, Marshall, Gregory. Subs: Martin, Pearce, Ferguson, Tunnicliffe, O’Brien, Onyedinma, Morison.
